Crossing the Line

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

Naugatuck High School’s DECA Chapter, a club for young emerging leaders and entrepreneurs, is presenting
the Crossing the Line assembly to the sophomore class on November 2, 2018. Crossing the Line is an annual,
student-facilitated seminar for the sophomore grade to learn, share, and become aware of bullying. This
educational assembly developed by the DECA students has content to equip students with the tools to feel
confident and comfortable with identifying bullying, to be aware of their resources, to confide in trusted adults
and peers, and understand their part in making Naugatuck High School a safe, welcoming environment.

There is sensitive content throughout the Crossing the Line assembly. During the presentation, at all times, there
are school counselors, nurses, social workers, administrators and other professional staff available to support
any student in need. If your child has any questions or concerns regarding Crossing the Line, please advise them
to speak with their school counselor.

Thank you for your support regarding our mission to empower students at Naugatuck High School and allowing
them to pursue their excellence.
